A little while ago now I was living in Wagga, working and also studying Photography. One of my assignments was female portraits. There was a lot that went into assignments, I had to come up with the subject (enter Montana), the composition, the lighting, I had to think about everything (really no different to what I do now, haha). I happened to just stumble across these sunflowers one afternoon and decided that this just had to be a backdrop for something, anything.
Wagga was hit with a heat wave, and low and behold my once amazing sunflowers were now near drib and drab, but I was still determined to use them. We made a quick beeline for the paddock and I just love how they turned out. They are light, breezy and just make you want to smile 🙂 . Plus, what girl doesn’t want to be the star in amongst all those sunflowers.
